What are the SDGs?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

Who can learn the SDGs?

All students in any grade level can learn about the SDGs in age-appropriate ways with the bevy of free activities, curricula, and classroom activities now available. Together, with teachers and students, we can be a powerful force for achieving the UN's vision of a more peaceful, healthy and equitable world.

When would the SDGs complete?

2030 is the year set to achieve all SDGs. That is why the 2030 Agenda is universal, applying to all countries and actors. It requires all nations to take climate action, reduce unemployment, strengthen gender equality and promote peaceful societies, to name a few, if the world is to eradicate poverty and shift into a more sustainable development.

Where to learn more about SDGs?

The simple answer is: join the KIDsforSDGs community. There is no better way to learn about the SDGs then to roll up your sleeves and work with new like-minded friends to support a cause that you choose. The Division for Sustainable Development Goals, at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs also have great resources.

How do I further the SDGs?

Learn first! Before you take any action, whether to support the SDGs or another cause, it’s important that you understand it. Luckily, with the wide availability of the internet and the access to free information instantly, it’s quite easy for us to educate ourselves on each of the SDGs. Pick one SDG that resonates with you most, and explore opportunities in your local community to support

How do I sign up for KIDsforSDGs?

KIDSforSDGs, since inception, has taught more than 250 kids between ages 6 to 19 on how to become a Young Global Citizen. As of October 2020, a total of 12 SDG initiatives or projects have gone live.
